What does /lit/ think about these two lists?
Is the editor's list or reader's list better? Are they both great? Are they both shit?

Just curious to what you guys would think about the list.

Editor's list is much better. The reader list is full of Ayn Rand and other terrible authors

>> No.1239951

I looked at the reader's list and saw two Ayn Rand books on the top of the list; I highly doubt the reader's list is any good.

I'm fairly new to /lit/ but I thought Ayn Rand was well received on here.

They are both filled with cliché "best books". Where is the Herman Hesse? Franz Kafka? Oscar Wilde?
Sure, it's ok as a starter list but I would not consider someone who has only read the books on this list as being well read.

Editor:
A horribly worthy list by somebody who probably owns a leather armchair. There's not a single risk on it.

Public:
At least this one has some variety. It feels like something generated by human beings rather than algorithms. A top ten made up of Ayn Rand and L. Ron Hubbard though?

Conclusion:
They both made me feel physically ill.
