God, I love Camus. Dude knew how to break a sentence down to it's bare minimum and still transmit a lot of meaning and emotion.

On one extreme you have writers like James Joyce who like to write in a super complicated way, just so pseuds can boast about understanding his books.

On the other extreme you have retards like Ayn Rand who write in a simple way but write way too much just so pseuds can boast about reading long books like atlas shrugged.

Camus is not for people who want to boast about reading, it's for people who enjoy reading.

It's not about caring, he literally can't be sure because he wasn't informed about the exact date

Your misinterpretation of what Meursault says mirrors the failure of the jurors to understand the context of his actions later. You’re actually the type of brain dead zombie he was portraying.

That's such a shitty first sentence. I read this and loved it when I was 15 years old, so looking back that makes a lot of sense.

No, no, no. You've got it all wrong. It's not that he hasn't been informed of the date, or that he doesn't care, nor that the date is irrelevant. He's been so drastically affected by the news that he has become disoriented an is unaware of time passing.
