Hey /lit/,

I am a well-known writer. I have several books published which are occasionally discussed here.I will answer any questions you may have which do not allow me to be directly identified. I am not Pynchon.

Yes.
>Who is the greatest living writer in your opinion?
Don't ask questions you don't want answers to.
>Been published in any major journals/magazines?
Yes.
>How do I get gud at writing?
There's a wonderful interview with Kurosawa about writing screenplays which applies to our goals as well. See if you can find it. Basically you have to put one word after the other after the other after the other and so on. Don't stop. You can even have a word processor opened up right now and practice.

Can you answer me some silly, but objective questions?

How many hours do you spend writing?

How many books do you read per year (give an estimate)? How many pages a day (estimate)?

I think of myself as a pretty good, almost erudite reader, and whenever I try to write I get the impression that there is some talent in me, but somehow there's also this heavy laziness which seems to ask me to remain forever a reader, never a writer, forever a passive spectator, never the master-builder of my own personal constructions.

>Can you answer me some silly, but objective questions?
Ok.
>How many hours do you spend writing?
It has changed throughout my life. I didn't even get serious until I was in my late 20's. Then I wrote two hours a day every day before work. Now I have all the time I want but I end up doing only a little more than that. So about three and a half hours a day. I recommend that.
>How many books do you read per year (give an estimate)? How many pages a day (estimate)?
Depends. I actually only read about a dozen last year due to a number of circumstances.
Pages? No idea. I am a slow reader.
>there's also this heavy laziness which seems to ask me to remain forever a reader
A desire to never try for fear of failure. Fight it. If you want it you really can have it.

>>12366396

A number of reasons. None of them good.

Also I can imagine him lurking long enough to think this is what we want because he’s a buddhist fuck and that he can actually give us some form of help. The age comment also fits Saunders’s bio. The genres comment kind of throws me off, but obvs OP is trying to act as lowkey as possible as to avoid publicity. Either that or OP is a larping faggot.

Woah I could totally see that now. And as for the matter of working in a few genres, that apples to Saunders as well: novel, short story and essays (the Braindead Megaphone). I like this question. I had heard about 4chan for some time. I am not much of an internet user but I try to stay contemporary. A friend of mine visits this board on occasion and would tell me about some of my work being mentioned here. He said it would be an interesting experience in "unilateral fan interaction" or something to that effect.
I have lurked a bit to understand how to use this site before making this thread. My opinion is that this board produces better conversations than I hear at most dinner party with intellectuals and writers. I owe that to the anonymous nature of the site if nothing else.
I will probably continue to lurk and occasionally speak poorly about myself whenever I am mentioned.

So for it to be Bret, we would have to assume that his statement about not being serious until his late 20s as him admitting that his early work was phoned in or something like that, which I don’t think he would admit to. Actually discussing literature that is outside the same shit this board always talks about. And I mean actually discussing it, not high school tier analysis or pseudo-academia. Usually the people who spend their whole profession analysing one author or period, or movement etc. People reading each other's articles and criticism and having something genuinely thoughtful to say. Also face-to-face is usually nicer. The snotty, elitist academic is a stereotype that is rarely seen in my experience, and when it does arise most people don't have time for it.

>search for and publish private or identifying information about (a particular individual) on the Internet, typically with malicious intent.
>hackers and online vigilantes routinely dox both public and private figures

In particular the term identifying information. I just wanted to point out that if he's not a larper he would sense that his identity will be discovered and that's all really, that might frighten him because he understandably may not wish to be known as someone who comes onto this site for a Q&A session. I also realise that it's pretty much standard that natural curiosity will get the better. I bear you no ill will, anon.
