I've spent most of my undergrad studying the ancients and the Germans, plus a bit of the French. I want to get into contemporary stuff so I can see what people are talking about, but most of what I've seen has bored me. Anyone have any suggestions for authors / papers / subfields currently being worked on that would be of interest to someone with a mostly history-of-philosophy background?

>inb4 you're stupid for majoring in philosophy
i'm also majoring in math

>Fallibilism and the Flexibility of Epistemic Modals
>The Principle of Sufficient Reason: A Reassessment
>Actuality, Possibility and Worlds

Mind and possibility are popular now, and as always what we can know for a bit

Have you also touched on the anglo/analytic tradition?

Not really. I've studied Wittgenstein, but only later Wittgenstein, which I hear isn't as relevant. I have a little familiarity with Russel, Whitehead, and Frege's ideas from chatting with friends / math relevance but not much

Interesting. I am considering your major path but with a minor in philosophy and a major in pure math.

I've found it to be a good balance as someone with math/tech ability who wants to be able to make money with it and someone with interest in studying philosophy. I'd imagine you're probably a similar case? I've grown a lot intellectually and also exit with a degree it seems like I'll be able to get a good a shill job with, probably in order to save money to be comfy for grad school; I've also grown a lot in the liberal-arts/classical-education sense. It seems like a good deal :)
