ITT: Greatest book you read in 2018

I too read this in 2018. It was great honestly, Dostoyevsky is good at depicting interesting characters

Moby DICK. Honestly Melville was super gay but I forgive him for it entirely honestly it was that good and it feels good to forgive too just like how I forgave Tchaikovsky after listening to Eugene Onegin. If Mao or Stalin wrote Moby Dick t b h I would become a communist

and i forgive you for being a pleb without any friends, with a family who hates you and no job, girlfriend, money or anything to make your life valuable. i forgive you for also being a waste of space in this already overpopulated world, son.

Catch-22. I feel like a dork for liking a high school tier book so much, but it’s fuckig brilliant. I had to put it down from time to time to just come to terms with the fact that I’ll never be able to write anything as good. They way everything comes together towards the end is so damn good.

I'm halfway through, great read so far but he needs to tone down the technical asides. Dude is fucking obsessed with whales. Leave biology to the biologists and write more about your characters man.

So spiteful. I would be mad if literally any of those were correct! Maybe "pleb", yes, I admit, but consider yourself forgiven for that phrase before thou has even uttered it, my friend

If I had to pick one I'd pick Hamlet. The best few were Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Montaigne's Complete Essays, Ficciones, and Nichomachean Ethics.
