Common history? Please, vast majority has rudimentary idea about history at best. And it's almost always more complicated than "we were the good guys and kicked asses of the baddies".
Common values? These are very rarely exclusive to nation, rather than to undividuals.
Rest is mostly a shell. At the core, nationalism fullfills the need for the tribe you can associate with, and is mean of rhetorical control over you and masses of people by state/political group wanting power for themselves. Educated and Intelligent men, I am sure you guys are, should recognize these and be smarter than wholly give in to such simplistic tools of social engineering.

Nothing. It is misunderstood by so many, /pol/ kinds of people misunderstand it too. It is not about pride, it is about love. Nationalism is love of your fellow people and the values of the society you live in. People who describe themselves as 'Left' are not generally nationalist because they think the fundamentals of society are oppressive/flawed.
