This translation seems to be looked down upon but unfortunately it's the one I have. Should I get one of the better translations or just stick with this?

P&V is completely fine, it just pisses off Garnett fags.

It's fine but translating the French in footnotes is really dumb

Its relatively very dry compared to other translations that will make for a much more engrossing and enjoyable reading experience, thats all

this one is ok, they NYRB has a good article called "socks" where it rips them to pieces with side to side translation notes.

Better than the version I'm reading which leaves the french in, with no footnotes or annotations. Who the fuck thought this was acceptable?
