How can I trespass the mountain of shit that is 4chan and just receive the gold that is under it? It is almost biblical how some of the deepest comments I have found on the Internet are behind hours and hours of lurking through shitposts. Are they unsplittablely bounded?

That’s a great ending to an otherwise inane poem

It's perfect. A tragic realisation that the cost of rationality, acknowledgning your own shortcomings and biases and living in the real world is an almost complete rejection of your own experiences.

Have you ever tried actually, I dunno, reading good books?

I try to make 4chan just something I use to turn off my mind, but even that goal becomes increasingly difficult the more annoying this place becomes, the lower standards are, and the more illiterate teenagers post here who aren't really interested in literature and philosophy but rather in shitposting. Although I'm not going to lie, I'm still occasionally impressed by some posts here recently. It's hard to be totally pessimistic about this board because some interesting and well-read people still come on it occasionally.

I think the best way is to not dig deep. There's worthwhile stuff here but it's a waste of time to worry too much about it. I'd recommend just skimming through the catalog to find a few threads that seem worthwhile, then read/skim through them and move on. The average 4chan browsing session should really just be 15 minutes long unless you find a truly useful and long thread, which will only happen occasionally.

When you post good shit yourself, others will reply to it

This is a lie. You will get two (you)'s whereas the /pol/tard hot-take three posts down will get five.

>that the cost of rationality
you say that as if it's something you can decide to buy into or not

>is an almost complete rejection of your own experiences.
how is it a rejection of your experience? is the experience more fully if you don't think about it a second time?
