I quite liked the Dark Tower septet. I also enjoy the films made from his books.
He has good, original ideas, I find, but his writing is sometimes a bit contrived or has too many stylistic effects.

Charles Dickens-- It is indeed the author by this very name I have come here to describe, by no means of circumlocution or roundabout speech, that the aforementioned writer deemed it necessary to adopt a particular diction by which he is without hesitation accurately identified by the acute reader. It should henceforth be mentioned that aforementioned diction indicated above is one marked by what should not be mistaken for diffuseness, but rather a formal and comprehensive prose necessary to convey the idyllic subtleties of a time now past.

I think it's better to just say Dickens writes books in which there's always a butcher named Mister Cuttymeat, or a fat lady named Piggotty Hogg

That's pretty funny. I see what you did thar etc. But more to the point, who're you to say that such prose isn't genius? I enjoy reading some Dickens books simply for some of these exquisite passages of descriptive bliss.

I think stephen kings science fiction plot devices are retarded and really have no place in his stories.Dark tower turned to shit in book 2 when roland found the portals to the modern era.
