By our earthly father's corruption, we are all separated from God. The meaning of this passage can be obtained by imagining yourself committing the most horrible crime there is: incest with one's own daughter. While it may be hard for us to imagine or admit, all men are capable of committing this sin. Once you can see and imagine this possibility, you can realize your truly Fallen and depraved nature. From the depths of this depravity, however, we rise, by the grace of Christ's sacrifice. The sacrifice was begun and made possible by his Incarnation, which we will celebrate this Tuesday.
