We can all agree that Mondaugen's Story was the best part of the book, right /lit/?

That and V. in Love.
And She hangs on the Western Wall.
And Esther gets a Nose-job.
And In Which Stencil does Eight Impersonations.

I read this after Gravity's Rainbow and actually found it harder to follow. V. is solid but you can really tell it was his first novel because he just had to get a lot of shit out onto the page but didn't really know yet how to refine the unmediated chaos pouring out of his mind. It reminds me a lot of William Gaddis in that regard; he came right out of the gate with The Recognitions, and even though it is a really damn solid read, it would have benefited from more judicious editing, but it gives hope for how much better and matured he becomes in later books like J.R.

damn I loved V. so much, I really thought it's gonna be underwhelming since Pynchon is so memed on 4chan and it's not even considered his best book, but I really loved how varied all the chapters were, how it all kind of came together at the end, I loved the characters, I loved the different historical-geogrpahical settings
