Somebody redpill me on Malazan? Is it good fantasy? I here a lot of people say it's the best fantasy ever written, but I also hear that about books I hated such as WoT and Name of the Wind.

Malazan is worth reading but it's also a confusing that becomes hard to follow at times. Its biggest drawback is that it's still a fantasy novel underneath all the lore and the complex exposition.

I can say one thing: it's not like The Name of The Wind. That is just rubbish.

If you disliked WoT you’ll most likely dislike Malazan, they suffer from basically the same problems.

Name of the wind sucked so much
I liked Tolkien but hated name of the wind and that fat cunt George Martin's series.
Any really good fantasy advice? I miss enjoying this genre.

it's on a similar level to WoT, maybe slightly better. definitely better than name of the wind.
it's not as confusing or difficult as people like to say.
could have used a ruthless editor more than any other author i've read.
