Depends on the level of the job. I worked at the front desk of a very wealthy apartment complex once and I made 12.50/ hr, and 16.75/ hr overtime. And I had overtime very often. It isn’t every day you’re able to make 16.75 / hr and read the whole time (if you’re working nights).

I just interviewed for a high level company that places you in positions like that, actually. They were named in my newspaper as one of the best places to work for.

Just depends on the level of job searching you want to do. Sure you COULD just be happy with a min wage security job, or you could shoot for the stars with your concierge desk dreams. Then you can make bank while you read.

Meh, it’s neither here nor there. I’m a car salesman right now, but I am about to change my job again. I’ve been through a lot of different jobs. I can tell you. Take whatever time you have to read for granted. Some positions are stagnant, but other positions will promote you if you’re a good worker. If you do good work, you’ll be working your way up. And you can’t do that while you read. Just how it is, I’m afraid.

I download books from libgen and read them on my laptop. This makes the barrier of entry as low as possible: with a book you have to go pick it up and sit back down, but with a file on the computer with which you're already shitposting, all you have to do is Alt+Tab.

i am a neet. I read every day. Few years ago i was quite regular, reading 2,5-3 hrs every day. Now it's between half an hour to 9,10 hours in some days when i get sucked into books (that three body problem books sucked me good)
