Brothers Karamazov has 365,712 words. The average reading speed is, what, 400 words/minute?

Am I reall expected to spend 900+ hours reading this? Even 2 hours a day that's over a year.

What the fuck OP. It takes 50 hours to read In Search of Lost Time at 400 WPM. By the way, if you're talking about spending too much time reading a book then you certainly don't read at 400 WPM. At least, it won't be sustainable throughout your lectures. Therefore, it is more like 20 hours to read the book at 300 wpm (400wpm half the time and 200 the rest).

This is a microscopic investment of time compared to the worth of the book. It might have been 3 times the lenght and I'd still recomend to read it as it stands.

If it's a word you don't understand, consider whether it's important to understand as of the moment, I personally only rarely waste energy understanding a word if the context makes the sentence understandable and I'm not doing an analytical read.
