Whats the best way to get into reading and literature, other than "just read bro." Looking for any advice on where to start.

How the fuck is reading not the solution to wanting to read. Maybe read the barrel of a gun instead.

The issue isn’t your literacy. Most retards can read. It’s your lack of cognitive ability which apparently makes you incapable of applying that most basic of modern skills in any useful way.

I get what you mean, but it simply is "just read bro".

Figure out what genres you might like based on what videos you like to watch, movies, podcasts, interests etc. Watching a movie based on a book (ie. Harry Potter) helped me when I was younger as I could stick to a book when it got boring as I was already interested in the story and wanted to re-live those moments. Pick up more and more books, read them and put them down if you don't like em, keep reading the ones you do like and figure out why you like them, slowly carve more time in your day for reading. After reading your books, go online like this board and try to talk about what you read, read about what other people have said about it, see how it changes your perception etc. Get introduced to more books.

I never thought it would be something i would be interested in, similar to art. Recently found a new appreciation for art so i thought that there was something i was missing in literature as well.

To impress girls at parties of course -- little does OP know that he could just read the wikipedia summaries and probably do better because there is no thot on planet earth that wants to hear some autist's nuanced opinion on Nabakov

I always recommend this to noobs. Its one of my favourite books and its quite short and easy to read while simultaneously having really great prose and a beautiful aesthetic and theme. Its also probably a good start that will have you walking away from it also with an understanding for why reading literature is actually valuable on an individual level because the the aesthetic of serious commitment to your craft that it presents will probably impact you in a positive way. All around great starter /lit/ IMO
