I just finished RJ, it was my first Shakespeare and I absolutely loved it. What Shakespeare should I read next?

>> No.12221761

Hamlet is a must.
Richard III is a personal favorite.
All those comedies and romances bore me so don't bother with them.

Hamlet is what I was thinking. Well, I guess that's all the confirmation bias my weak mind needs to make a decision. Later, faggots!

>> No.12222423

Macbeth is brilliant, my favourite parts are the 'Was the hope drunk wherein you dressed yourself?' speech and the Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow soliloquy.

Too bad, Hamlet is great, but it's somewhat disappointing when you finish it. Because everything else is inferior. Not just other Shakespeare plays, but literally everything else ever written.

Tell me what you love about it anon

Don’t pass on the comedies, give As You Like It and Twelfth Night a shot, they’re wonderful.

>> No.12222999

Yeah I definitely agree with people saying Hamlet. I read it and had a crush on him, with dream included for a few months straight. My favourite.

So wrong. Hamlet is a must and Richard III is based and fun af but his comedies are great

Lots of things. But one thing is the depth of the plot. It's perfect; there's just enough complexity to make it interesting and endlessly analyzable, but not so much that it becomes confusing and difficult to follow.

>> No.12223751

While Hamlet is his magnum opus Macbeth is by far my favorites.
Also I liked Othello pretty much

Julius Caesar

read everything he wrote over and over until he lives in your heart
