How the heck do you guys read? By this, I mean positioning yourself and the book. I find myself frequently adjusting my position and my book out of constant discomfort.

i sit in a chair, bent over and shivering from alcohol withdrawal, the phone inches from my eyes so i can concentrate on the small text of the pdf as it jumps back and forth

I have one of those "reading pillows" that I prop up against my headboard and then put another pillow in front of it to cushion my back. Then I just slump back into it and leverage the book against my stomach so my arms don't get tired.

Comfort while reading is all about what you're doing when you're NOT reading. Make sure to stretch, practice yoga, exercise and deadlift, take walks and open up your chest, relax and learn to breath properly, and most importantly do NOT sit and browse 4chan for hours, lest you die a tragic death, enveloped by despair in your final moments.

I only read in this position and if you don't do the same you're not really reading.

I use a Kindle and it's super light and comfortable to handle. I can read massive tomes in the same position for hours.

Typically in bed, laying back, sitting up a bit, adjusting my position to the side when my arms or back gets tired, then alternating back and forth. Sometimes I'll lay flat while holding the book above my head, but I rarely hold this position for long. There isn't a good way to read laying down, but you eventually get so used to it that continually adjusting your position becomes second nature, and the awkwardness/discomfort goes away.

I suppose if you had a bed with a headboard and lots of comfy pillows all this can be avoided.
