was Hemingway the working man's literary man?

No, he was a fruitcake who traipsed around europe and hung out with modernists. He did those things in order to butch up in the eyes of people like you.

he was a modernist retard

He started out as a journalist, and he had a pretty good output, so yeah, maybe

Hemingway was more of a chad than you will ever be capable of comprehending. Now return to your James Joyce fart sniffing thread

Doesn’t invalidate anything I said. I wa talking about his personality, not artistic style, retard.

No he wasn’t and I don’t particularly care for Joyce.

Lol. Hemingway is probably the best candidate among famous writers for the distinction of “latent transsexual”. He really was a fruitcake. One of the most transparently insecure un-masculine people of all time; I seriously don’t know either fans or critics still write under the illusion that he is an authentic “manly man”... even his novels are open about the fact he’s a posing ponce. I think I remember reading that he dressed up in girls clothes as a boy of his own volition. Plus there’s that episode where he takes Fitzgerald into the bathroom and looks at his penis. And don’t get me started on his war memoirs... that whole thing about him summarily executing an SS POW? Really? It’s fanfiction. He was a journalist. If he were alive today he’d probably be writing for the Atlantic about how he lived with a group of Afghanistani boys who dress up in feminine clothes for a week and learned how to perform erotic dances for anti-Taliban generals “and that’s a good thing”.

Hemingway is a good writer

He was a little full of himself

If he was a repressed transgender, he did the right thing in burying it and trying to embody a masculine archetype

I like his writin, he’s more of a stylist than a profound thinker, but I like how he praised masculine stoicism in the face of hardship

Also there are a bunch of cool stories about him half of which are probably fake but still entertaining

If he truly was a repressed transgender then he did the wrong thing. he just ended up blowing his fucking brains out. May as well have tried to be who he wanted to be.

>but I like how he praised masculine stoicism in the face of hardship

He probably committed suicide because of chronic pain and writer’s block. Also being ugly doesn’t really refute any of my opinions.
