Everytime I read one holy book I get in a mixture of peace and ansiety. Several books on the Bible, but most of all, The New Testament, were just beautifull and Quran's sayings make me wanna be a very dedicated person to the Big G. But also I get very anxious because I wanna get closer to God, but I am to much of a dumb fuck to actualy know good ways to do so.
Since this board is for literature and I know a lot of you are religious (at least, at some degree), how can one be more pious towards God? I wanna feel the Lord in me too.
PS: Just, please, dont tell me to go the church/mosque/etc. I don't like going to these places. I just wanna conect more to God... And if I can have books while doing so, the better.

Op here. Bible is literaly a collection of books. This is further confirmed because bibles from different traditions sometimes don't share the same books or share them in different orders and names. If I ain't mistaken, Bible literaly means collection of books.

You could look up some common prayers for which ever branch of faith you're leaning towards and adapt some sort of prayer routine into your daily life. The rosary prayers might not be a bad place to start if you really want to get in to it.

It’s all about faith anon. I’d read Kiekergaard if you’re willing to go that far into it.
Say what you will but finding faith was one of the best decisions I ever made (stopped being a lazy druggo and actually went to uni and got a job).
Anyway, just find other educated Christians that share similar beliefs (as in don’t go talking to random mormons) and slowly develop something out of it.
