I would recommend the intro to philosophy course since you are starting out. It will cover a lot of things in a little detail but the exposure to many different philosophies (metaphysics, epistemology etc.) will help you find what you are really interested in, making it easier to dig in to what you like later in your university experience.

sign up for phil. ethics sounds like a bullshit degree, a specialization like 'criminal justice' that is useless outside of a very few fields.

Depends who's teaching. Also, ethics is a branch of philosophy, so if you want an introduction to all of it, obviously take intro to philosophy.

>> No.12186598

Ive been working since high school too, turning 24 in two weeks. Exactly the same as you OP, i am calm and mature now and have started planning to study medicine and commiting myself to it, itll take a decade, but thats cool, when you're 40 youll feel the same-ish mentally anyway it seems/ive been told. However lately ive had some doubts whether its too late or not and your post really made me feel supported and optimistic, so thanks OP, good luck with the studies, and have a good life

I started uni twice and pushed through second time at age 17.

Lots of medicine students I met in my life were in mid 20s or even 30s. I am now regretting listening to my parents because I'm a miserable fuck with terrible gpa and so on. So don't worry about your age.
