I struggle with the concept of narcissism on a personal level, and would appreciate any feedback.

I'm a very quiet person, don't like having my photograph taken, do not enjoy being the centre of attention etc, yet I am concerned with how people view me both superficially and otherwise. I also tend to demand high standards of myself be it on an ethical level, or in whatever field I pursue. An example is literature, where ideally I would want anything I publish to be widely read. Although I don't fit the criteria (IMO) of the typical attention-hogging narcissist who uses others as a means of gaining fame, attention or power, I accuse myself sometimes of being narcissistic. My father, for example, who I never knew growing up (he drank a lot and parents divorced due to his alcoholism, cheating and rage) accused me in a 2015 email of being a narcissist, and attached a document to his email written by a psychologist who had a friend who refused to say much about his private life due (I think) fear of embarrassment or something. I recognize something of myself in this person, but I talk so little and have so little going on in my life that is worth sharing, that embarrassment isn't the only reason that I don't readily reveal details about my personal life to people I'm not close to (including my father). His accusation really hurt me, and at low points I tell myself that my isolation isn't due to any kind of inherent shyness or introversion etc, but narcissism. Perhaps I am too concerned with an idealized self-image I can't hope to attain, and so refuse to display my inferior, human and true identity to people for fear of hurting my ego who clings to this idealized one? But then again, I'm quite self-deprecating and know my faults intimately.

Any advice?

It is a blog, but it's written by a disillusioned clinical psychiatrist that thinks American culture as a whole breeds narcissists in droves and highly encourages that behavior. Most of his posts are dissecting advertisements or movies to try and support that. They get a bit repetitive, but they're written in an entertaining way and absolutely scathing so it's worth reading at least a few of them.
He got doxed and stopped writing around 2013 because a lot of the stuff he'd written is stuff you don't want traced back to yourself, especially for something like psychiatry where there are licensing boards and whatever other red tape you have to go through.

I love philosophy, I just really enjoy the psychological puzzles it brings up. But I often hugely struggle ever having philosophical chat with men. Not only because the majority of them are dripping in an attitude of 'I'm smarter than you' (look it says so here, on my penis).

But also because it seems they just can't think about something in any depth. I didn't even study philosophy in college, but a couple of times my friends have introduced me to someone, who they have said is a philosophy Major, and that they think I will really enjoy chatting with.

But nope. Fucking basic EVERY TIME. Most of them can't detach their minds from empirical thinking for long enough to even begin proper philosophical thought/chat. I've literally had men just repeat a phrase at me, like a stuck record, ignoring what I have said because their minds were completely physically incapable of being critical or analysing their own thought processes.

And when I eventually give up, (because despite the different things I am saying, and angles I am approaching the topic from they keep parroting the same phrase, and the conversation is a dead end) they tend to get this smug little, 'I won' smirk on their faces.

It's weird because it seems like, for women, the goal of philosophy tends to be to unravel the mysteries of being, and to share in developing knowledge together. Where as for men, the goal seems to be ignorantly clinging on to their basic worldview whilst trying to shove it down other peoples throats.

I mean, I find that this is basically the main difference in how women and men approach almost everything. In my experience, Women tend to approach discussions/arguments/debates/projects ect with an attitude of what can I add, and how can we work together to achieve the goal/make sure everyone is happy/everything gets done, ect. Where as men tend to approach these things from a perspective of 'How far/how much can I get my own way'.

Does "incel" serve as the opposing term to words such as "slut," "whore," and "thot?"

It seems to me that it's a necessary and natural development of our political divide, because it disparages men for not having sex whereas the other words disparage women for having sex.

That is, except for "thot," which has a broader meaning and it supposed to conjure up an image when you say it or refer to someone as it, similar to incel. Both terms are also un-falsifiable during the duration of the argument, and if you were to try and definitively prove that you're not a thot or an incel, you've completely accepted the other's frame and lost, although it is likely less difficult to prove that you have had sex vs. that you haven't had sex.
