what do you think of this book?

OP here, well if no one is going to respond I'll talk to myself. I am torn I really love the style of Saramago but I absolutely dont care for any of the character. No matter what happens to them (good or bad) I just dont really care.

it's no Twilight, but yeah, passable

OP this is a slow board. Don't get your panties in a bunch.

>> No.1214623

I liked it better when it was by Dostoevsky

Saramago, can't be good.

There was (is?) a raid going on so most of the people who actually read books left to actually read books.

Anyway, the best way to start discussion on this board is to start out by telling us what you think about it, like you've done in this post.

I haven't read it, but do love Saramago. I hope you get the responses you're looking for. Maybe come back later and bump this thread once the readers have come back.

I've read this, Blindness, and his Jesus Christ book.

This was definitely the weakest of the three. To be honest, the only memorable thing I took from it was a passage where he gets into the thoughts of a dog.

I'd stick to Saramago's more popular work.
