It really depends on what you are looking for. Are you interested in warfare and the related strategy, operations etc, or are you just interested in strategy and general leadership stuff? Clausewitz focuses much more on the first, if you want a self-help book on strategy, you should probably start with The Art of War.

After Clausewitz you should move on to actual military books on strategy or Keegan and other military historians for history.

Cool, cheers anon

Depends upon the translation. Get the Howard/Paret translation. You should also know Clausewitz never finished the book. You should also know he reasons in a way that might strike you as strange have you not read much philosophy.

It's worthwhile if you are interested in the subject. But it's not a casual read in any way shape or form.

If I were to reread it I'd get an annotated version since many of the historical referenceces went over my head and it's annoying to check Wikipedia all the time while reading.

Now you are reminded of the fact that more babies are born than you can count numbers from 0 in a minute.

Everyday nearly half a million people reach the age limit for 4chan.

I am reading it right now. I only have finished chapter 1 because I literally started yesterday. Nothing earth shattering thus far but I am enjoying. Not too strenuous of a read but something you can fly through.

It's applicable to other fields as well.

First learned about it in an emergency/disaster management class as a useful planning guidebook.
