So, I played a lot of civilization 5 lately and I realized that the USAs “golden age has pretty much ended”. This is not something incredibly unique or anything it basically happens to every civilization. Once they achieve world domination (the US obviously did). They become lazy and self content, and drift into decadence and slow self destruction.

The US who sent a man on the moon, won WW2, and flooded the world with superior culture (Hollywood era cinema, blues, jazz, rock and roll, first half century American literature like Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Jack Kerouac, etc.) is long gone.

Now the US can’t even win war against some brown people with 50 year old weapons, become fat and lazy, stuffing fast food into them, and their “culture” today is incredible mess of quick buck high budget low value sequels and CGI action exploitation.

China is already around the corner. How does it make you feel, Americans, to join Greece, Italy (Rome), France, and so many other nations in become second rate countries again?

I think our inability to win against "some brown people" has a lot to do with it not being traditional war.
