Hey /lit/, this seems like the most appropriate board to post this on.

I'm interested in writing comedy and I was wondering where I should start. Is there anything I should read? Advice/tips?

if you need help writing comedy don't write comedy < my best possible advice

You could start by reading "comedy"
maybe Catch-22
or some of Vonnegut's stuff is funny.

In my 4chan wandering I once stumbled upon the address of a published screenwriter (co-incidentally, he claims to have done comedy) who would browse /adv/ and /r9k/ on occasion. Prehaps you should confer with him?

I should mention however that I have never spoken with this individual personally, I merely saved the address for reference if I should ever need consultation. Just mention that you saw his address in a thread or something

Catch-22 was not only funny, but also rage inducing. Fucking Milo

Well, George Carlin gives some good advice in some interviews. They are on youtube.
