What is some zoomer and millennial literature? I'm doing a project about writing for that demographic, but I have no clue without coming off "hey fellow kids" and cringey

I really don’t think all current day literature with any traction is bad, I don’t, but with that said Rupi Kaur is massive and total shit

t. Someone who worked in a major bookshop

Other than that, Murakami’s Norwegian Wood for sure, Yoshimoto’s Kitchen maybe,
Definitely Sally Rooney’s Normal People (I actually really liked this one, the prose sucked and the secondary characters were awful but it felt really powerful regardless. Worth looking past those setbacks.)

I'm 21 and I've been called a zoomer. I really hope your definition is correct because I can't relate to that group at all.

Of course you can't, anyone who reads actual literature can't relate to zoomers. Doesn't mean you're not one though.

The only thing millennials read are tumblr, ya, fanfics, reddit, the ny top ten books diverse mystery meat author of the month, etc.

zoomers read face tattoos, soundcloud memerap lyrics, and the manifestos of sociopathic autists who go on killing rampages because the zoomer think of themselves as nihilists with a wicked sense of humor.

OK.

Your garden variety millennial has either read the Hunger Games or Ready Player One. Zoomers would also likely fall into that pool as well so for distinction you may want to bump Millenials up to having gone through the Bobiverse series by Dennis Taylor, the fault in our stars by John Fuckface Green, and older Millenials at Google all worship Perdido Street Station by China Mieville. House of leaves is also pretty popular among Millennials to some capacity and that would be a good example of anti-fiction.
