How do YOU order your bookshelves?

>> No.12061770

Author's last name --> chronological order
I also have a smaller neighboring shelf for all the things I'm currently reading or know I'll need to grab soon in the future

>> No.12061785

>>12061762
Alphabetical by author's last name, then chronological order for each book by a specific author. If I have a collection of random writings or short stories from different years by an author I just put those to the right of everything else by them.

>> No.12061793

>>12061762
It used to be organized into sections of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and reference, with a stack of one of each of the first three on my desk for current reads, but now I'm running out of space and there is overflow of nonfiction/religious writings into the other sections. There was an ordering by last name, but now things are more or less scattered.

Fiction is by author but there are two separate "read" and "not read" sections so I can tell at a glance what my options are. Fiction is just kind of chucked on a couple of shelves, it doesn't even fit in the space I have and is stacked up as well as normally shelved.
