This is pretty much my opinion of the novel but I don't think I have posted it on /lit/ for several years. Probably just a common takeaway from the novel. I don't even remember that boring ass main character's name. His story could not be less interesting. This murder the whole novel builds towards ends up being a completely unmotivated or accidental thing like he's Meursault or something but then he just grows into a pathetic boring boomer anyway.
