On one scientific thesis the human mind is conscious due to its complexity. We have X number of neurons each with Y number of connections to other neurons firing at a rate Z. This generates consciousness. But if complexity alone generates consciousness, then everything is sufficiently complex on a great enough time line to bear consciousness. A piece of granite turns to dust, gets absorbed and turned into a tree which gets burned and turned to ash which compressed becomes coal etc. and is complex in this fashion simply at a slower rate of speed than humans operate on. The sun, however, must operate at a much faster rate of speed than humans. It pays us as little attention as we do may flies - individually at least. But what of all of life as we know it combined - perhaps stars are aware of it and foster its growth. Suppose that machines like computers represent the next evolutionary stage in our development as species of life. Having once again reached the limits of our environment as life once did when it reached out of the ocean onto dry land, we confront outer space and evolve radically again this time as computational machines able to exist anaerobically in the void of space. In the distant future entire planets consist of sentient machine life building planet wide networks to do nothing other than operate at a fast enough speed to communicate with the stars as equals.

The Human soul is the driving force of the world and the only reason we are still alive. Evolution is nothing more than a minor correlation with it. The reason the Dinosaurs died out is because their souls weakened-they stagnated, and could no longer resist the pull of entropy, and as such, they were eradicated for it. Humans are sapients, who have progressed incredibly within only a few thousand years, and we will never stagnate; Our souls are so strong that these "gamma ray bursts" and "giant asteroids" and "extinction level events", though real, will never happen to us. The only thing capable of wiping out humanity is humanity itself, and if we are able to pull through without murdering each-other long enough to reach other planets, we will be unstoppable until the universe eventually dies, and possibly even beyond then.
