I'm tired of people making random-ass threads on this board and covering their asses with the figleaf of asking for books. This is a literature board.

I don't have a problem with celibacy, so don't take this the wrong way. But you should consider what your actual reasons are. There's a difference between renouncing something that you possess or could possess, and "renouncing" something that you are unable to acquire, if that makes sense. Consider whether celibacy is simply a rationalization of your own personal failures. If that's what it is, then committing to it likely won't do you any good before you come to terms with your actual problems.

Same reason I'm larping as a Catholic on here. Schopenhauer's On Women has been a huge help in coping

>Driven by hunger, a fox tried to reach some grapes hanging high on the vine but was unable to, although he leaped with all his strength. As he went away, the fox remarked 'Oh, you aren't even ripe yet! I don't need any sour grapes.' People who speak disparagingly of things that they cannot attain would do well to apply this story to themselves.

Ancient literature about celibacy is quite interesting.

He was not celibate. Celibacy entails no sexual release. He was a slave to the flesh and snapped when he wasn't able to find a replacement for his hand. He had no problem with masturbation or recreational sex, only that he couldn't get it.

How does this really happen? How do you do it?
Do you simply accept it that it might never happen, swallow it like it was your destiny in a "Amor fati" or stoic kind of way?

I feel like telling myself that im a failure because of that only makes things worse, i much prefer to accept as it is something natural and possible and it's worse outcome is still survivable.
In this case with the OP's celibacy, i would say it is better to stop stressing with the thoughts about women and sex that bring stress, anxiety and "self-degeneracy" and just accepting what is to come no matter what without worrying about it.
In other words, accepting weather if any woman will take interest in you or not. Just accept it and live in peace.

Chastity bestows qualities that elevate the mind and direct toward intellectual pursuits, whereas sexual matters bring the mind down and make it focused on short-term burst of pleasures but at great cost.
