I LOVE YOU TOO, BABY. JOHN DONNE UP IN THIS BITCH

AS virtuous men pass mildly away,
And whisper to their souls to go,
Whilst some of their sad friends do say,
"Now his breath goes," and some say, "No."

So let us melt, and make no noise,
No tear-floods, nor sigh-tempests move ;
'Twere profanation of our joys
To tell the laity our love.

Moving of th' earth brings harms and fears ;
Men reckon what it did, and meant
But trepidation of the spheres,
Though greater far, is innocent.

Dull sublunary lovers' love
—Whose soul is sense—cannot admit
Of absence, 'cause it doth remove
The thing which elemented it.

But we by a love so much refined,
That ourselves know not what it is,
Inter-assurèd of the mind,
Care less, eyes, lips and hands to miss.

Our two souls therefore, which are one,
Though I must go, endure not yet
A breach, but an expansion,
Like gold to aery thinness beat.

If they be two, they are two so
As stiff twin compasses are two ;
Thy soul, the fix'd foot, makes no show
To move, but doth, if th' other do.

And though it in the centre sit,
Yet, when the other far doth roam,
It leans, and hearkens after it,
And grows erect, as that comes home.

Such wilt thou be to me, who must,
Like th' other foot, obliquely run ;
Thy firmness makes my circle just,
And makes me end where I begun.

Had eye problems for years, and was referred to specialists in London a couple of years back. They're still investigating and this is one of those 'what the hell is wrong with you' sort of visits.

Nothing has really happened yet. Read the 40 page preface, intro, bio etc first. Got high hopes anyway. Want to enjoy something different from my normal tastes

Alas, no. Second year undergrad. I had a load of other illness things going on so my education was delayed a bit. But thank you, tests have ruled out anything life or vision threatening, so everything else is a plus! Just wish I didn't have to go down to London so often. I love the place, but spending all day in a clammy hospital when I have work to be getting on with isn't my idea of fun.

it's one of my all-time favorite books, although I think few would share that sentiment with me. The plot isn't that engaging for the most part, but the characters are spectacular. I do hope you will enjoy it!

>>1205100
oh yes, I understand. :( I'm currently stuck in bed with the flu right in the middle of my exams.. terrible. Oh! Second year isn't too bad. Do you have an area of concentration (or something similar in mind)?

I'm taking mostly modernist and renaissance modules this year, but in my final year I'll be broadening a bit. Post-grad if I stick with English I'll be focusing on the Renaissance or 18th century literature. Anyway, I have to go catch a train. Give me an add on msn, if you wish.

Yeah I was wondering if they were going to have to completely go back to the writing stage since they couldn't play an album written for the four of them with just three.
