In what world is anyone stealing ideas from these threads? Even when people aren't spamming pige the ideas are mostly half-baked and poorly described at best, and everyone knows execution is much harder than ideas. It's just a fun little thing to do and inspires creativity, stop taking yourself so seriously.

Perhaps it’s a little story about a nice young white child being raised in the projects. I get a lot of flack for making the story about that since some racial notions might come up. Great idea though, a lot of possibilities for explaining society the way it is. Everything comes together in the end when I make the reader read the first letter of every sentence of the book, then something new emerges.

The protagonist of the novel is a photographer, and the entire book consists of descriptions of photographs taken during the course of the narrative. There are no descriptions of characters' words, feelings, or thoughts, or even their names.

A book about the meeting of ancient indian mathematics with arab travelers who are on way to home. Hindus will try to show and teach arabs the idea of zero as number comparing it to local spicy herbs. At the beginnig this method will only make arabs angry but after couple of hours learning about zero they finally know how to use it in maths. Unfortunately due to barbaric invasion all of enlightened arabs die defending the ancient indians from invaders. Only one arab survived the fatal battle and he escaped to homeland, but the only thing he remembered from the meeting with hindus is the method of making sweet curry powder.

Dystopian Western or Anon's shameless attempt to capitalize on the current political situation

>Background
>alternate timeline, International Socialists and Progressive take hold of the US in the late 80s
>borders unsecure, la reconquista is in full effect
>fast forward of 2022, Southwest states are 90%+ Hispanic, mostly Mexican
>US has become impotent and politically unstable thanks to costly and pointless wars, Mexican nationalist vote on referendum to secede southwest states to Mexico
>national debt defaults, US does the unthinkable and decides to sell the southwest states back to Mexico, evacuating as many US citizens as possible
>those who refuse to leave are either deported, racial and ethnic minorities face discrimination and oppression

The Story

>Mexico is still wrought corruption and criminality, homesteaders try to move in the new frontier but it is too vast for the Mexican police to patrol
>Enter the primary characters, a group of American criminals and outcasts who refused to leave the Southwest states
>They murder, rape and steal from innocent homesteaders, murder Federales to steal their equipment, slaughter illegal immigrants trying to sneak into the US and ambush cartels and burn their drugs in front of them just to spit them
>the gang slowly degenerates and murder anyone who they come across, cross the line when they murder US citizens, including a group of US militamen attempting to take land back for the US
>On the run from the US and the Mexican gov't, they continue their destructive downward spiral
>Plot Twist: Turns out the ones behind the social decay of the US that led to this was actually a pack of hyper intelligent tapirs hell bent on the destruction of all humans in the Western Hemisphere

I stole an idea from here and turned it into a story.

Should I feel guilty? I took a one sentence long idea and expanded it into a 4k word story and changed the setting and time period.

I’m pretty sure it is good enough to get published but I don’t want plagiarism to come back and bite me in the ass. I might use it for an MFA app

It was unearthly, and the space niggers were—No, they were not human astronauts. Well, you know, that was the worst of it—the suspicion of their not being extra-terrestrials. It would come slowly to one. They howled and leaped, and spun, shot their laser guns from their UFOs, and made horrid faces; but what thrilled you was just the thought of their humanoid qualities—like yours—the thought of your remote kinship with this wild and passionate uproar. Ugly. Yes, the space niggers were ugly enough.

What was it about? You can be vague, nobody is going to steal it. I'm just curious.

And if the original idea was so vague as to be a single line which you expanded, I can hardly even call that stealing. It sounds like inspiration, and all the best ideas are "stolen" from somewhere, but elaborated or abstracted upon. No ideas are original.
