We're having a /lit/ meetup in Boston.

Email bostonliterature at gmail if you're interested & I'll give you the place & time.

>Why?

If you've been to university organizations, reading groups, or hung out in a cafe up here, you've noticed the stifling eggshell-walking culture. And also that no one reads /lit/ books.

>What?

Something in the vein of Ben Franklin's Junto. Discussion, critique, &c.

there's drinking (not required) and discussion (kinda required) and really good times (NECESSARY)
they're usually over around 10 or 11.
if you don't like it just never show up again and no one will care except me

Pretty much exactly what you'd expect. We get together and drink beers and talk about stuff that's related to /lit/ or literature, and stuff that's not related to either. The subject matter is overwhelmingly about some academic thing or another, but there's a not-negligible minority of more standard "normie" type conversation mixed in as well.
This probably seems like a non-answer but it's really not altogether different from any other social gathering of young people. Just a bit weirder

I don't think I can go tonight. I've seen these threads pop up every now and again but how often do you fellas do these meet ups?

>> No.12023700

>>12023690
About once every 3 or 4 weeks, assuming of course they're not not-inviting me to any of them, in which case the answer is more frequent.
Anyways just go ahead and email OP in case you miss next time's thread.

One ended in a bar fight, one ended with sneaking into the Masonic lodge by the common, one started with everyone taking three shots of whiskey, and tonight will involve fistfuls of pharmaceuticals and staring down the adjacent table of humans.

We started out talking pretty basic stuff, logical positivism and the like. Eventually, we all started getting drunk, then once we started calling out the Jew people around us were getting visibly uncomfortable. We kept going and laughing at them until this white girl called up some black guy (her boyfriend I guess?) and he told us to leave or else. We were all too scared to say anything so we just kinda picked up our books and walked outside and stood in the rain for about 20 minutes complaining about the stupid roastie. After the vomiting began we all called for our rides home.

Discussion centered on the hot topics of the day - math, philosophy, anime, the upcoming election, Israel, pic related, schizophrenia, Nick Land, and Underworld (read it btw). We continued our conversations afterward in the astral realm.
