With NPCs aplenty slurping up Red Dead Redemption, what's your favorite story in the genre?

>> No.12006196

Blood Meridian is the favorite.

rdr2 actually reference it. I'm surprised they even read the damn book because the story rockstar wrote is nowhere near as good

When it comes to coherent narrative in video games, they usually ruin it by throwing in some big, unnecessary creature for the player to fight at the end. That's what I experienced with Bioshock, anyways.

I really liked Catherine. It could easily be made into a work of literature.

Alpha Centauri and Deus Ex are among my favorite works of science fiction, but unfortunately I'm not well-versed in sci-fi literature at all.

I could cite some that compare to fantasy or scifi literature, but an indie game called Beeswing is the only one I can think that compares to classic literature. I would throw Mother 3 too, though I won't blame people who disagree with me.
