Hey /lit/

How does one go about reading the Discworld novels?
I've read the first two in the series, should I now keep going in the order they were written,
or should I follow this chart and read all books about one character then proceed to another?

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Also: Is the young adult books worth reading?
What about the science novels? Folklore?

Ahh, I'd follow the chart so the characters are fresh. Sometimes characters from other books pop up which is wonderful when you've read a lot of the series, but it is probably more enjoyable going by the chart.

the young adult ones are definitely worth a read, in particular Maurice and Wintersmith

Also I would recommend trying to stick to the order they were written when possible, so you're able to get all the inside jokes. Otherwise you may miss something because it was written previously in a different arc that you might not have read yet.

Re-read them once you get to the end, and you'll see how much didn't click the first time

Also don't forget Carpet People or the Bromelaid trilogy if you hadn't found them yet

Don't read them... please.

The reading order is no real order, I still have no idea what novel to start with after reading the guide.

Helpful would be:
first you should read:book XY, then UY etc.
