I know that most of you don't usually read thrillers(myself included) because they can be formulaic. What are some examples of quality thrillers?

The Da Vinci Code.

James Ellroy's Dudley Smith trilogy: the Big Nowhere, L.A. Confidential and White Jazz. American Tabloid is also excellent, but I can only cautiously recommend the sequel The Cold Six-Thousand because it's seven-hundred pages of four to five word sentences.

I'd also recommend 20th Century Boys by Naoki Urasawa though it is a manga.

That is probably my favorite manga.

I'm really tired and I just got home from a long trip so at first I thought you were calling The Secret History a manga and then I was like, "holy shit."

The Secret History is probably the best homoerotic novel about pompous, emo pretty boy rich white kids that I have ever read.

The Secret History made me want to become a rich, pretentious classics major. Yes i know that is not what they majored in.
