Can you guys recommend me any novels that aren't too complex like a James Joyce book but at the same time have a good and interesting plot and memorable characters that can keep me entertained while I read it. I've mainly been reading history books and autobiography but want to get into some interesting fiction books.

Thanks for the offer. I'll be sure to put it in the list of books I'd like to read and it seems to have an interesting plot. but I'm looking for something more relatable. Not a bunch of rich aristocrats living in like whatever century they're from. Something set in the 20th-21st century and relatable to me as a commoner as well as using normal English.

You could try Musashi by Eiji Yoshikawa. The language and themes aren't too complex, and although it has a few issues arising from it being abridged, it's 970 pages of mostly engaging samurai adventure goodness with memorable characters.
