If non-fiction, textbooks, encyclopedias and academic journals don't make up at least 95% of your reading material, you're effectively wasting your limited time on earth.

book threads that I wish to see on reccomendations

>101 of various disciplines
>rare information books (like on race)
>rare manuals of rare jobs
>"cheat" books which may bypass or give you insight into a difficult topic which is part of an education (REALLY NEED THESE MAN)

To ‘waste’ would imply there would be something else more worthwhile to gain from it.

What makes reading non-fiction a more effective use of time than fiction?

what that anon is implying in a dickiish way is that we lack actual informative book threads, as I agree with as the second poster. I dont think that you are wasting time, but we could use more threads about modern, non fiction books.

Based. Only thing is most people like that here tend to shit on philosophy and other "non-useful" things.

the life goal of a human being is to obtain long-term happiness
the biological goal of a human being is to spread your genetics through breeding

youre just another pseudo-intellectual, I bet you don't even read scientific books yourself.
even if you did, you wouldn't be reading them because of any goals you have made yourself.
