Can you guys recommend a book on just basic critical thinking? Everything I'm finding it newer and adding all kind of other things to the subject.

I’d rec you something but my own critical thinking isn’t strong enough to decipher your second sentence

Everything I find has kinda a new agey or modern corperate swagger flavor to it. I don't trust that.

I've got a good book on critical thinking but it's not in english so I can't really recommend it here. I should not have commented at all now that I think about it. Ignore this comment.

Id study logic. And eventually move onto monadic predicate logic. IT is helpful.

Find a Jesuit priest.
If he does not ass rape you on the spot, he will be able to teach you about the logic and reason necessary to have critical thinking.

Even if they don't rape you, they'll rape your religion. Look at what the Pope's currently doing.

You don't need to be taught to critically think, it's something every human adult with an IQ above mental retardation level does naturally.

You're probably looking for a book on the rules of formal logic, in which case, I say don't bother. Logicians are sad, lonely people who haven't a clue how the real world works.
