What is your perspective on Max Stirner?

Interesting enough as philosophy.
Makes everyone mad as heck who know him and obscure enough so most plebs don't know him.
Also easy to interpret yourself because "lol my Ego is above that shit" and highly memeable.

I like him, too bad this board just makes him into hipster Ayn Rand.

>> No.11898869

Didn't see coming ending his book as pretty much a socialist.

>> No.11898911

Can someone explain how you can appreciate spooks as long as you are conscious you are doing it your own egotism? How am I supposed to learn what my ego wants?

>> No.11898987

>>11898911
You could just read into absurdism, and appreciate everything for what it is. Rather than worrying about your ego

>> No.11899842

he should be talked about more past the meme of the spook. Honesty with how /lit/ talks about Whitehead, Deleuze, Land and other nowadays, I feel in some ways Stirner could fit in well in some areas. (rhizomes contrasted with The union of egoists ; Process philosophy contrasted with the Creative Nothing and so on)

nietzsche + kierkegaard with a dose of stirner is the ultimate existential stew

there's no real argument against him because he's right about everything

too many liberals and """anarchists""" using his imagery and aesthetic, same as marxism/socialism/communism and a lot of things. he's easy to read and fun. nothing much deep to it but surely better than most """"""philosophy"""""" especially the established stuff. i think stirner's core ideas are meant to be building blocks to combine with other things and manipulate/refine. he seems to work well with nearly anything, i think that is a mark of legitimate thought, it's not so much some plain doctrine or facts or 'this is how things are', just some solid 'really made me think' and highly adaptable concepts. i think wide, unique, and personal adaption seemingly beyond the scope of stirner's own thinking is actually the epitome of stirner's thinking.

dunno but 'leftists' seem to get hung up on that mongoloid/europid/negroid bit. it's pretty funny how their programming instantly takes hold and they revert to stock outrage lines. ive seem them pedantically mull over stirner's 'bigotry' with malice while spouting one-liners about spooks. they never seem to pierce, even slightly, below their baseline memes that they've not even seriously thought about to begin with (that's the starting point, they've not done anything). sometimes that can be disheartening.

His philosophy is cute but totally impracticable. His idea of a Union of Egoists sounds like something a cool teen would name their band. In practice it makes no sense since you'd end up with a bunch of warring narcissists trying to assert that each other's belongings is "my property." It would be comedy.

Philosophically speaking he's an amusing little boy and little else.

why do creationists honestly think this? I have a strong grasp of evolutionary biology and haven't read about evolution in any serious way for years. if anything, I "worship" a variety of ideologies and pursuits.

He's surprisingly a subtle thinker. Probably one of the most self-aware philosophers. Takes on concepts with wit and irony. He's sarcastic and seems like he's having fun.
