But appart of that I'm at loss.

Ahh I think I have it. In certain cases, the number reflects the age of the named character. Though the site does not explain, and I have a hard time understanding why Moby Dick is number one and Captain Ahab has a "C" for a logo and the number 2.

or, according to Wikipedia, Whitman's formal scooling ended at age 11.

Seriously, there should be more shirts with these references. Although I do not see much of a market for this since who the fuck can get these allusions quickly. If there was an Orwell 84 shirt, /lit/ would go apeshit

Jerseys are a great way to show support for your heroes–if your heroes happen to be athletes.

But what if your heroes are found in the bookstore instead of the ballpark? What if books are your game?
Novel-T offers an opportunity to express your support for the all-stars of literature. For those who feel a connection to certain writers or characters–be it Walt Whitman's expansive exultations, Huck Finn's mischievous morality, Kurt Vonnegut's humorous humanism, or Bartleby's seemingly inscrutable insubordination–these super-soft, slim-fit jersey-style tees are a winning way to "wear your read."
