I do know these, and I can say that that's erroneous of Taleb. If he was an ethnic Greek, which I'll admit there is some degree of evidence for, but not enough, then he is far removed enough from the Greek identity to have to refer to himself as Lebanese instead. Phoenician, too, is a bit of LARP.
But the term Arab in the middle east has become far too widespread, and groups together various nations that are extremely culturally and ethnically different.
