Particularly the painful, nostalgic recollections of the youthful romance, the twenties being spent constantly inebriated, having hell beaten out of ya, watching others succeed while you cling to some sort of "authenticity," to your actions and resent them for abandoning you when really you've abandoned yourself and everybody around you, if ever there were a book told a pretty familiar piece of my story I needn't look further.
