The way I see JDP and his books is that it's all trying to tell us that the world is engulfed by a great big fire and it would take hundreds of millions, if not billions, of people to grab that extinguisher so you best forget all chances of that ever happening and build yourself a flame retardant suit and ignore the heat and the asbestos itch and all the burning people. Just improve your suit and everything will be okay.

I kind of agree and kind of don't with you, OP. I think he is mostly just talking about how if you are a depressive wreck who can't even commit to a schedule for the most basic mundane tasks of life that fixing this should be prioritized over desires to somehow fix the world which will amount to little more than unacted on fantasies given the hypothetical state of the person in this example. I think this position can be taken to a certain extreme though, and it can become a kind of "physician heal thyself" cop out, or even a means to psychically encourage conformity.

He is the only modern philosopher/sage who goes to the very fundamentals of man´s being.

His hygienic practices are on par with islam, simple, yet effective: wash your genitals, clean up your room. But not praying, because he understands, that God is Dead.

Instead we should follow religion and go to the church on sunday, not because we believe in these silly supernatural sky-daddys, but it gives structure to our life. Respect the authority (police), believe Obama, believe the government. Sure the official story of 9/11 seems a bit sketchy: but that does not give you a reason not to wake up tomorrow to work for mr. Shekelstein. Respect the Jews, not out of holocaust, but because Askhenazi IQ is statistically higher.

I respect him more than any other philosopher past 500 years

yes, it's from one of his maps of meaning lectures

>So, it's like, wash your bloody genitals! I've seen unwashed genitals and that is a dark dark sight you do NOT WANT TO SUBJECT YOURSELF TO. What the great Russian philosopher Alexander Solzhenitsyn wrote in The Gulag Archipelago, his account of the Siberian Soviet work camps was that no matter how hard life got for the prisoners, and it got BAD, make no mistake Stalin was AS BAD AS HITLER IF NOT WORSE, but no matter how bad it got for Solzhenitsyn he would always wake up an hour before the hammer was struck in the morning so he would have time to WASH HIS GENITALS. It's like, yeah, that's the internalizing of order in the face of chaos. Because unwashed genitals send a signal okay, not just to potential partners who come into sight or contact with them, but also to comrades and enemies who SENSE the unwashed genitals emanating from your every pore, it's like when you HAVE unwashed genitals you BECOME unwashed genitals, and that's chaos, and that's the bottom of the pyramid bucko, that's far from God, and that's the crossroads that connects Cain and the serpent and that is a BAD ROAD TO BE ON, believe me, because until you are there you don't know whether you have the strength not to walk it. So.

Otherwise, unless you're the 0.1% of humanity who disciplinememes it up(which you wouldn't be able to be if you're depressed), you really are relying chiefly on your circadian rhythm and if you fuck that up even slightly then your schedule will start to go out of whack.

Do you know what “people” are? What’s the last time you’ve interacted with one? How long have you been inside as a NEET? I know you wake up at 7am sharp every day so you can post on 4chan and masturbate to furry hentai for 16 hours straight, but other normal people (you’d know this if you had friends or ever interacted with people in real life) enjoy sleeping in or staying up later when they don’t have class or a job early in the morning, which may or may not lead to a poor sleep schedule, but probably is more likely to.

tl;dr "what will he say next that I also agree with"

I think he was useful to the point of his appearance with Cathy Newman showing how dissent from opinions force npcs to resort to fallacies to avoid looking wrong or stupid, but the followers fail to apply this to themselves. What he represents goes over the head of most because they focus on what he says and not the intentions of such conversations he draws out.

Do not be a janitor if you value your sanity. I did it for a month at a mall after a neighbour asked me to help since they needed it badly and since I was in a rut of lacking employment and the money was actually quite good I did it. Hopefully never again.

Everyone knows the myth of Sisyphus, yeah? You are Sisyphus now. Every day you will clean up the same stuff and listen to the same music. Every single day you work. It's always the same. People throw their shit around and don't care. People throw their food. Since second shift was always understaffed because the job sucked we, third shift, would have to do their job and ours. One of the worst parts for me was I couldn't recycle and was told if I did it on company time I could be fired.

The solitude gets to you after awhile too. You think it won't but it will. In a huge mall with trash and music and lights and noises I hated it. Everything added up to equal a miserable experience. The only good part was my colleagues. My boss was very understanding when I told her I couldn't do it. I need to use my brain for things not push a boulder up a hill.

This is how it was for me. I was ultra depressed when I got into Peterson. He prescribes basic fixes and ways of living for people who were in the position I was. It actually helped me get out of the rut I had been in for 3 years. But after getting out of that position there was really no need for Peterson in my life and I stopped paying attention to his antics. The problem is that redditor types attach themselves to Peterson as an "anti-sjw" guy and not as a self help psychologist. They also think that the things he says are the ultimate solution to society's ills and not just a way to help individuals out of hard situations.

If he hadn't risen to fame the way he had, nobody would really have a problem with him. I could even imagine shitty articles being written about him in traditionally left wing publications like: "this professor is tackling the incel problem. His solution: man up"
Too bad he seems to be pandering too much to his newfound audience and overeaches when making claims about post-modernism and marxism.
