How do I even start studying legal positivism? I've read Kelsen and Hart extensively, but I don't know where to look when it comes to contemporaries. Joseph Raz, perhaps? He's written a dozen books, where to begin?

Dude, /lit/ is not the place for this. There are no law students here.

The first book he has written, or do you want a step by step guide on how to begin reading the books OP?

read a bunch of encyclopedia entries about legal positivism, they'll give you lists of sources, some will be journal articles - you could tackle those before the primary texts if Kelsen intimidates you

This. Use IEP and Stanford and you'll probably find some good stuff. Still curious about what you find and want to talk about OP.

Read Hans-Hermann Hoppe. Throw the Bobbio books in the trash. Legal positivism is some cuck-ass sophistry.

>Hans-Hermann Hoppe

None of this Austrian bullshit is ever seriously discussed or taken into consideration anywhere. For good reason, I might say.

>>11856116
I've already read Kelsen's Pure Theory of Law, his General Theory of Norms and General Theory of Law and the State. I've also read Hart and Bobbio. I just want newer stuff and how to start studying them.

Seconding the Hoppe recommendation. He is not just "bullshit" and is actually discussed seriously and taken into consideration by plenty of people.

It's a pathetic and contradictory position. He should just admit he's a conservacuck and be done with it.
