Well, the rumor goes that Martin has heart disease and is going to die before completing the next book. Which will likely be in a couple of years.
But yea, I'm a fan. Good series so far. Hope the HBO adaptation lives up to the books

GRRM has done 1400 pages for ADWD, and more that he has since bumped into the next book. He's still got a few chapters to do though, IIRC. I'm hoping the release will coincide with the TV series, and that the TV series will be incredibly successful and therefore make him pick up his pace, otherwise they'll overtake the books in five years.
