If anything the 'ethnic' displacement/placement is there because of British colonial administration. Not something which happened centuries before is pretty much unconnected to the conflict nowadays.

Myanmar is well known for pissing off its ethnic minorities by treating them like crap. The Rhakine muslims are but one of numerous ethnic groups which have been systematically suppressed, denied rights, and have seen militias formed to fight against the oppressive state. Seriously, go look at the history of sanctions on Burma and how many ethnic groups are fighting there. The Rhakine muslims have been thrust into the limelight but they are only one small group in what is actually going on there.

Further perhaps I you should read about Tibetan buddhist upper castes and practices in Tibet prior to China taking over and kicking the Dalai lama out. Perhaps it would dispel some of your ignorant perceptions.
