Taoism comes off as “dude just chill lmao” lazy, ambition less stoned castout to me. Is it truly this way or is there a parallel with a driving force and motivation/discipline? I’ve read the Daodejing everyday for like ten months and it just comes off as “be a doormat, good stuff will happen I guess”

>> No.11811507

Sufism (Islam), Kabbalism (Judaism), Zoroastrianism, the Egyptian mythology/religion, Christianity, Hinduism, Taoism, Buddhist teachings which have the genuine grain of wisdom in them, (Neo)Platonism, Hermeticism, Gnosticism, the Greek mystery schools, ancient Babylonian, Sumerian, Akkadian etc mythology and religion and more can all be reconciled because they’re all different expressions of the same one Tradition, the philosophia perennis, the prisca theologia, you plebeian. Stuff like Wicca and other modern religions bastardizations are indeed shit-tier, although even in such degenerations you can accidentally come upon a bit of wisdom they somehow filched somewhere from someone who really knew something.

Anyway, it’s pretentious to rank the religions in such a way as you did when you have no idea of their esoteric meanings and the heights of spiritual development one can attain by following their true meaning, or even just by being a dedicated sincere follower of their exoteric teachings. All roads lead to Rome.

>inb4 prove it

It’d probably take hundreds of thousands of pages to detail. Anyone who does a deep enough research into the history of comparative mythology and religions, esotericism, mysticism, occultism, can see what I’m saying. It’s not meant in any wishy-washy way. The more you know, the more you can see the esoteric unity behind religions.

this is fucking dumb, all theistic beliefs have pros and cons that make them all on the same playing field. christ was just shoved down everyone's throat making it the most popular

Christ is the most beautiful religious idea ever devised. There isn't a single concept that comes close to it in any other major religion.

It's not the most innovative idea anon. You had religious figures that were basically role models all the time (hercules, buda, thor/odin, mohammad, etc). It's alot easier to write a bunch of stories about a nice guy and say be like him then write all of the nice things to do.

That's wrong though, the Hindu texts on Krishna paint a picture of an extremely compassionate being, just as much as the Christian texts do for Christ.

The humanity of a Hindu avatar is just a coat the God puts on and takes off. The Incarnation is different- the permanent union of God and Man. The latter is the fulfilment of our hope of union with God, the former is just a mouthpiece to represent God to man.

Also, Krishna never sacrificed himself to reconcile man to God
