But Slaughterhouse-Five predates Gravity's Rainbow. Also, Vonnegut was getting published several years before Pynchon came along. Vonnegut's first published short story came out in 1950 and his first published novel came out in 1952. Pynchon's first published short story came out in 1959 and his first published novel came out out in 1963.

Granted, Vonnegut's pre-1959 work lacks the post-modernist weirdness and humor that defines Vonnegut but Pynchon didn't influence Vonnegut's evolution. When Vonnegut was evolving into the Vonnegut everyone knows Pynchon was a nobody who was only publishing short stories and articles. And those short stories don't hold a candle to Pynchon's best works or Vonnegut's best works.
