>Did they actually end up striking a romance with her as the dominant partner
Still thinking about it. Initially I didn't want any romance to bloom between them as they had their own separate love interests, then I added the whole casual sex between them and realized that'd that be too NTR'ish. So we'll see.

It's something familiar to anyone who has had to spend any part of a summer on a poorly-ventilated subway track ever since air conditioners were first introduced. The platforms are somewhere in the loose ballpark of 20ºF hotter than the surrounding city due to the trapped air conditioner exhaust, and naturally are usually filthy as well, not to mention underground.

My father – who was not a religious man – always told me the subways were closer to hell, and having lived in NY for every summer of my life I can clearly see the comparison. I don't think it's any wonder I came up with the idea, nor that many others have done so before me. Personally, I just think the difference is that I wanted to write it as an satirical adventure novel rather than a horror story or a folk tale

Black Company started in the 80s though. I don't even like the series past the first book but you're just being retarded. So most fantasy then? Not sure if the anon who posted that pic is the same one who pitched the idea, but he straight up admitted to this story being nothing but fetish fuel earlier in this thread. Not every fucking fantasy story has to be this realistic "but what's his tax policy" bullshit you fucking faggot. Yes. It is. Japs may have jumped on the isekai train before Russians did, but average jap writer gushing about his Ainz-sama is nothing compared to russian isekai.

When it's not Our Guy in Fantasy World, STALKER tie-in novels(for the game, of course, forget about the book), it's Our Guy Travels back In Time to Help Stalin Win the War with Superior T-34(again),

That last one is markedly worse, because it's a product of generation that missed the Great War daydreaming about the glory days they've themselves never had and never even seen. Bonus point for real historical characters acting massively out of character and truly horrible writing courtesy of literal boomers.

I can think of exactly ONE series that isn't just porn that has all three of those combined but it's a weebshit LN called Masou Gakuen HxH. Impregnation isn't uncommon in western fantasy but incest is and I don't think I've ever come across anything where the protagonist fucks a mother/daughter at the same time. It would be a fun read if you try. Mock all the characters, turn the slave into someone who gets the credit at the end, and how the Amazon woman took him in her care with this purpose, for him to be the one telling her heroic stories, and somehow he fails and gets turned into the hero, and he finally decides to tell the truth in one book at the end of his life.

>I'm considering getting into The Expense series
They're not bad books, they'll definitely keep you interested if you're into the story. However, character development doesn't really start for the main crew until book 4, and some supporting POV characters don't change much over the book they're in (but some do). There's also a pattern of things just happening that are never mentioned again and have no relevance to the story, like on Ganymede in book 2 when the UN black ops team captures Holden and the crew only for them to escape literally a page later and continue on with business as usual. This decreases somewhat in later books, but I've only read through 6. Books 5 and 6 are the ones I've enjoyed the most.

The only remaining stable surviving nations, aside from the African-based Ashanti Empire, are an isolationist Australasian-Japanese Federation, which opposes the Ashanti Empire, and the wealthy Marxist Republic of Bantustan, formerly known as South Africa which is led by its Indian-born President Mahatma Gandhi; having never known apartheid or hostilities between the British and the Boers, it is a wealthy, pacifist utopia, in which there is no racial tension.

Well, I just finished pic related and enjoyed it thoroughly. It reminded me of a bizarro world Roadside Picnic. Where, instead of all powerful ayys being disinterested with lesser forms of life. They nurture and cultivate it wherever they can. I’d say its at the same level as the first book in the series, and if you already watched the movie you can hop into this book without reading the first. Although a pet peeve of mine is how Clarke will change parts of his stories on the fly. Like how in Childhoods End where He swapped the first encounter from the Cold War, to WW2. He does it again here to conform to the movie timeline, instead of the book.
IMO the best part of the book was the Europa sections, and would recommend it based solely on that. Also I’d recommend it to anyone who wants an explanation of the big space baby ™.

I finally finished WoT. Haven't finished sorting my thoughts out, just going through the wiki to see what I missed. I know I was pretty ho-hum on the characters for the most part, so I was surprised when I found myself caring about character deaths, especially Siuan and Bryne. Only protagonist death I was glad of was that retard Gawyn, and even then it hurt a little, if only because of it partially leading to the death of Egwene, who I actually liked in the later books. I was mostly satisfied with the ending, my main problem is that it didn't have more of an epilogue, with too many uncertainties for my liking (the future of the White and Black Towers, whether the Seanchan will still be cunts or if they'll ever stop chaining channelers, the status of Saldaea now that Faile is technically queen, and where she and Perrin are going to live, some other things I can't think of at the moment)

What did everyone think of the series? More specifically than I can be at the moment. I know general sentiment here is that it's a waste of time.
